My first Yuletide! I am excited. ^___^

...So I may have just stayed up literally all night reading ALL THE HUNGER GAMES. As in, started at 11:00 PM on Sunday and just finished as of post timestamp minus fifteen minutes.

This may not have been the best plan, because now I have thoughts and feelings and stuff about them, and also I have class at 8:30 and haven't slept and yet it somehow seems like the best idea ever to be telling dreamwidth all about this mess instead of showering or caffeinating or some other productive thing.

Today, I do not win at being a responsible pseudoadult.

Now that school has stopped, I finally have time to write! This is a good thing. I celebrated by starting a new project instead of continuing work on anything I've already started. Oops?

Today, I reorganized my hard-copy draft folder, which got dropped in the throes of dorm-packing and exploded all over the floor. It contains ghosts of things which perished amidst the ominous clicking noises of DiskFail '09. Someday, I hope to resurrect them.

Bizarrely, I'm finding that Fictional Prowess Panda actually motivates me to write. Internet time-sink fail, productivity win?

I'm finding that half the fun of writing this stupidly overambitious Leverage fic is populating its criminal underworld with wacky original characters. I think I may be doing fanfiction wrong.

Running away to the woods this weekend; packing pencils and paper. We'll see what happens.

Edit: Fixed link.

I really did not need to discover and read the word of god blog for Leverage. While it is totally classy that this guy takes the time to field fan questions and share obscure tidbits, I really, really can't handle all his unsubtle broadcasting about Upcoming Massive Drama.

(interlude while I read kfm's latest post, having pulled up the site to get the above link. self control FAIL.)

I am teetering on the edge of my seat, and also pissed off. Edge-of-the-seat because damn, some of the upcoming craziness sounds awesome; pissed because they're fucking up my canon-arc forecast something hardcore, and they kind of gutted my great big project fic. Bastards. Who do they think they are?

So I watched the House Season 6 Premiere. Then I logged on to [livejournal.com profile] house_wilson to compare notes with my fannish kin. There was very little response just yet, so I waited an hour or two while I typed up my own thoughts. When I checked back, the page refused to load. Four hours after the fact, it's still down.

Did my fandom just crash its own community through sheer volume of whining opining? I think it might have.

Jeez, you guys. It wasn't that bad. (Or that good, but that's another story.)

Just in case anyone noticed and was wondering, I recently changed my username from Meuchlerin to Artifactrix.

Here's why, in more detail than anyone ever needed. )

So I watched tonight's episode of House.

It sucked. I retreated to [livejournal.com profile] house_wilson to lick my wounds amongst the like-minded, but found that my need to bitch about it ranged beyond the scope of that community.

Warning: This is me wallowing gratuitously in fandom. There is absolutely nothing of value here for non-fans of House.

So much fail. )

*blink*

*blinkblink*

*blinketyblinkblink*

*reverts momentarily to Matrix fandom*

Whoa.

*frenzied applause, fannish squeebles*

Fairly inexhaustive spoilers. )

So yeah. Wow. A worthy conclusion.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] darthmaligna? STFU. Quit your bitching and just read it. It doesn't suck as much as you think it does.

Off to get Deathly Hallows in a few minutes.

Post to follow with photos of me desperately wringing the last drops of childish joy out of my first love fandom.

Also, the spoilers can be summarized thus:

Everyone dies. And Snape? Just wants to be loved. <3 Awwww.

Those spoilers had damned well better not be true.
